UD Trucks achieved an annual sales record of 1080 vehicles last year, according to official ERG figures released earlier this month. These 1080 vehicles represents the largest single retail year in the history of the UD brand in Australia.
MK topped the UD Trucks list with 480 sales, contributing to UD's strong medium duty market share of 10.2 per cent for the year.
Combined with 326 PK sales and 38 units of the niche LK model, the total UD medium duty volume of 844 units represents growth of 4.2% year on year. The Heavy Duty CW range achieved outstanding growth in 2006, with sales increasing 30% to 236 units. The CW range was the #1 selling Japanese Heavy Duty truck over 350hp for both 2005 and 2006.
"Our 2006 result is testimony to the strength of the UD product" says Mr Tom Yokoyama, Managing Director UD Trucks Oceania.
"Our reputation for value, reliability and low cost of ownership is second to none and this story is now reaching more customers than ever before"
"With our strong dealer network, increased focus on sales and marketing activity and with the continued support of Nissan Diesel Japan we expect strong sales to continue."
"We're very optimistic about the outlook for 2007. While it will be an extremely competitive year we see no reason why this year sales won't exceed our 2006 volume."
